This pinion bearing puller set has hardened machined alloy clamshells and high-quality retaining rings and adjusting collar. This carrier bearing puller removes both carrier and pinion bearings and is appropriate for use on most Dana/Spicer solid axles. This includes Dana 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 axles (differentials) and also Ford 9” differentials. I had always used 2 jaw pullers in the past on differentials, the clamshell works great. Haven't pulled a cage off yet with this setup, fast and simple to use.

The quality of the kit is very good and the caddy to hold everything works well. I've used this to pull the bearings off my Dana 44 to get my final backlash correct. The only complaint I have is that there's no way to attach a reaction bar to keep it from spinning. I had to use the pipe jaws on my vise and put gouge marks in my shiny new tool. Square tube on the outside of the main body for a pipe wrench, or to hold better in the vise, would make this perfect. It if weren't for that, it'd be 5 stars.
