The NP249 transfer case was used in 93-98 ZJ Grand Cherokees. It offers full time four wheel drive controlled by a viscous coupler and a center differential. While not as reliable as previous New Process transfer cases, its performance still holds up today. It also featured a ratio of 2.71:1 and was made to be a full-time transfer case.
