Do your research, this works on some GM NV4500s January 27, 2025 Reviewer: Stephen from Houston, TX   This WILL work on some GM NV4500s. The GM NV4500's had top covers with 3 different shifter openings: round opening, short square opening, and tall square opening. The GM short square opening (1995-2000) is the same as the Dodge 1998+ top covers and works with this kit. I purchased the kit from the Allstate Gear eBay store and personally tested it. The "race car" precision shifting is cool but I am mainly wanted to ensure the shifter does not hit the bench seat or the dash in the 86 Chevy truck I am swapping this NV 4500 into. Short throw shifter 2nd Gen Ram. Short shifter nv4500 November 6, 2023 Reviewer: Richard Wilson from Jensen Beach, FL United States   Install only took 15 mins. Shifter is very tight and firm. Feels like a totally different truck now.  highly recommend buying one of these. It’ll make your nv4500 shift more like a muscle car. Was this review helpful to you?

Short Shifter July 25, 2023 Reviewer: Chris K from CT   Really made a difference.  Shifts are much tighter and have less throw.  Took all the slop my old shifter had out.  Only thing I'm getting used to is the stick sits lower and at a steeper angle, so 2nd gear for me lands right near my knee.  If it becomes a problem I'll just torch the shifter stud and bend it, but I'm getting used to it.  Much more relaxed shifting than before where I had to move my arm a lot.
